Re: The numerous multi line "int" to "bool" performance warn

I've got a clean compile with hsBool as type bool. WOOT go me! You will have problems if you change hsBool to bool. Certain parts of the code use s->ReadSwap() so it will try and read a 1 byte value instead of the 4 byte value stored in the PRP files with your change. plSound::plFadeParams::Read() ...

DelURU

DelURU is a project i started on 20th May 2011 which has never been completed due to other things getting in the way. The idea behind the project is to create a set of Delphi Units which can read Myst Online's Files (PRP, etc). As its been a while since i did anything to it i have decided to release...

Re: Licence violations and incompatibilities

Ultimately, although I'd think highly unlikely, Cyan could wind the clock back to day one and say "OK we're starting again with a revised license, with none of the fan contributions included". Wouldn't that be the simplest solution. They don't need to change there internal code that they use to com...

Re: OpenSSL

You can get a 0.9.8h compiled from Here.

Note: I know its not 0.9.8q but that shouldn't matter(I found a pre-compiled 0.9.8 months ago which wasn't 0.9.8q and it compiled fine with URU. Though no clue where i got it from).

Re: Licence violations and incompatibilities

I never understand why people can't just use simple licenses which only cover the file that they are written into. Something like ZLib but which prevents commercial use unless the software its used in is also open source and has references to "Software" replaced by "File". I.E Copyright (C) 2011 Joh...

Re: Licence violations and incompatibilities

Anyone who's contributed code under the GPL (without an exception) could sue, actually. For small contributions we can just remove them, but it's still not a spectacular situation. I stand corrected, forgot about the GPL's retarded "Everything becomes GPL even if its got another license embedded in...

Re: Licence violations and incompatibilities

When it comes to files which Cyan have claimed as theres can't you just replace them with the Original versions of the file? That should be the simplest way around it. When it comes to PhysX/3DS Max SDK's it shouldn't be a problem as Cyan are not likely to sue people for compiling them in with the C...

Re: Ending the Nonsense Part Two

I don't know enough about PHP to comment on that, but it seems like using the database would be simpler to implement and less distracting for the casual user. It may be simpler to implement but the database doesn't always have a bots known usernames. Thats why its good to never rely on one method. ...

Re: Ending the Nonsense Part Two

Furthermore, this abuseable power should be removed. Hoikas suggested a better anti-spam solution: When you register in the forum, your name could be checked against the spammer database. This system has been used successfully by the GoW and should be used on the MOULa forums. It is time that Cyan ...

Re: How to Successfully Revive Game Franchises

Did you think about that before you wrote it? I never thought you would become defensive over nothing. All i have ever been stating is that you made a definition as to what you constituted as a positive statement*. A council would approve ages based on there definition of what is acceptable to them...
