Re: Connecting using External Release client

Thanks everyone for the "actionable information". Lyrositor: I understand that you're struggling, but I will not be able to help with the nonstandard clients. I do not find you insulting. branan: I never got an apology for the attacks. I must have missed the memo. Link, please. ("We agreed it was a ...

Re: Connecting using External Release client

I would appreciate it if you'd stop coming here pointing fingers at MOSS when you're using a client that demands additional extra arbitrary setup, and you haven't actually done that set up. If the client wants a SecurePreloader manifest then you will have to add it. I cannot tell you what goes in th...

Re: Connecting using External Release client

The gatekeeper and file server are server processes that the external client needs to connect to. It asks the gatekeeper where to find other servers. The setup instructions lay out quite clearly that you need to set up these servers, and that the gatekeeper has its own keypair. I'm sorry, but if you...

Re: MOSSi - MOSSinstaller

To compile compute_auth_hash, type "make compute_auth_hash". It is documented, several times over, that MOSS works fine with the non-email-address usernames. It always has. I use them myself. All you have to do is put the SHA-1 hash of the password in the DB instead of the compute_auth_hash thing. T...

Re: Connecting using External Release client

Apparently, I need to configure MOSS for use with the client. This doesn't make any sense. MOSS does not care about what client you are running. I mean, it really doesn't care -- if you somehow fail to send version information, the server just goes "huh, oh well" and goes on. And there is no way fo...

Re: MOULa Update, Feb 13, 2012

I asked Chogon about that when I saw the update. "There is a random bit in some files that cause re-downloads" - they never figured out where it was. Good issue on which to raise a ticket. ;) WHAT!? I know exactly where it is. Here: diff -r 2e5a53a35b5f MOULOpenSourceClientPlugin/Plasma20/Sources/P...

Re: Minkata Shard Updates

No, private channels are not one-on-one private messages. To set up a private channel, close yourself into one of the five meeting rooms in the hood. When you're in there with the door shut, that's the private channel D'Lanor is fixing. You talk normally and only those in the room with you should he...

Re: Minkata test shard -- discussions and questions

However, when you configure the AllAgeGlobalSDL...etc. on the server you are modifying the age vault instead of the age SDL state, isn't it? In an ideal world these should synch automatically, but could it be that the difference in names is throwing off the MOSS synching routine? That would impact ...

Re: Minkata test shard -- discussions and questions

You see file server requests for PhilRelto because that's what's in the manifest. If you want to rename the file to philRelto on the file server, you need to change the name in the manifest file (.mbm file) as well! The install instructions that discussed renaming/moving SDL files were just intended...
