Re: Foundry Portal now available with Secure HTTP
I guess the only thing I'd suggest is including it in the "how to get it" steps list on the CyanWorlds.com Engine wiki page, since it is a required step. As it is now, it can be easily missed by someone skimming the instructions. (Also, the "how to get it" steps are out of date since they sti...

Re: Foundry Portal now available with Secure HTTP
The main issue is probably just the big ugly warning boxes in web browsers, as well as Mercurial's unceremonious exit in the presence of a self-signed cert. Both can be worked around, but some minor "getting started" documentation to this effect is probably merited.

Changing Foundry account e-mail
Is there a way to change the e-mail address associated with a JIRA account on the foundry? I didn't see any such option on the profile page, but it seems like a necessity since sometimes people change their e-mail address. Thanks!

Re: Providing in-game support
Let individual shard owners worry about their own support. If they can get the GoG to work with them, that's great. If support becomes too big of a problem for them to manage alone, they can merge with other shards and re-unify the community a little more.

Re: Distributed Vault
I've never really understood just what was stored in the Vault that makes it such a sticking point now. Isn't it mostly just infrequently-changed state variables relating to various ages, plus some flags for clothes/Relto/etc.? It would make more sense to me to have a main Vault for a shard, possibl...

Re: Zandi
There's one big reason why messing with Zandi is a bad idea:

I don't have his phone number. Do you?

Re: Where to Begin (The Game)
Things would be set up so the new visitor could make an informed choice about Yeesha's path versus the Authorized option right there in the starting area, and then link out to begin their adventure. (Yeesha fans would be sent to the Cleft as it already exists, but with the option of sharing it with...

Re: Idea for improving performance in public spacing
I suppose it depends on whether you want something to be displayed in the interim, but yeah, that'd probably be easierrealXCV wrote:Instead of a default mesh and a default texture, why not simply disable it's rendering until all the data is loaded.

Re: Idea for improving performance in public spacing
Things could be different by now, and I think maybe loading the avatar is the worst now. I say that from being near the default link-in point in the city and watching the client freeze and then pop! there's a default avatar linking in. Then I can watch and pop! they are clothed. And then pop! they ...
