Re: Incompatibility of OpenUru.org and H-uru CWE repositorie
Hi Christian, Between Branan pointing out the changesets and my own exploring this evening, I agree that those first 7 or so changesets are ones we could combine. I then tried to take things a step further. I cloned a local repo from the current OpenUru repository, then attempted to update it from a...

Re: Incompatibility of OpenUru.org and H-uru CWE repositorie
Apologies if those seven are indeed identical, as I mentioned I had not had the time to locate the divergent change set. I'm away from my computers until tonight and I'll examine your results more thoroughly then.

Re: Incompatibility of OpenUru.org and H-uru CWE repositorie
It seems like the discussion is expanding beyond my initial point. That’s not a bad thing, but could we decide and act on that first, as it seems to be an independent subset? The repository work is the next thing on the ToDo list notwithstanding the collaboration proposals. I intend to move forward...

Re: Incompatibility of OpenUru.org and H-uru CWE repositorie
Really ideally that network should be able to send me email when somebody does something. Addressing this point alone, log into Fisheye at http://foundry.openuru.org/fisheye, click the 'Source' item in the top task bar. Select your favorite repository. At the upper right, under the task bar click t...

Re: Incompatibility of OpenUru.org and H-uru CWE repositorie
Wow, a lot of work went into that. Thanks. For the remainder of the discussion, I'd like to mention two precepts that we want to adhere to in the OpenUru.org (OU) repository: Retaining original directory structures until absolutely necessary to change, and then in consultation with Cyan, and A widel...

Re: Work Flow Management
DarK Are there particular attribute(s) of Confluence that address the functions you describe, and that the existing Wiki does not? We have the ability to set up Confluence, but had stayed with the exiting Wiki instance as it predated our acquiring Atlassian licenses for OU to use their tools. I'm no...

Re: Incompatibility of OpenUru.org and H-uru CWE repositorie
Do you have any idea about who (or how many people) already has clones of the OpenUru.org CWE repository and is basing their development on it (aside from the list on the forum )? In particular, do you know if Cyan does that? I plan to ask Mark directly, but don’t want to bother him yet before we h...

Re: Repository Structure
One thing that might not have been said yet is communication. An advantage of something like Git is pages like this: ... Well, to be precise, that is not a feature of Git per se, but rather the Github environment that utilizes Git. (Although to the casual user the distinction is probably irrelevant...

Re: Repository Structure
As JW pointed out, I did think about using a branch-per-project paradigm, and had concerns about the eventual complexity of the branch name space. That's the sole reason for not specifying that in the original proposal. But that's why it's a recommendation, and if you and others think it adds more v...

Could you elaborate on this point some more? Receive commit notifications? Something else? Let me know.
Thanks
