Re: Flaming
Kal, then, what would you take out of the formal definition of netiquette with regard to flaming as useful for today? The aim of the discussion is to tease out accessible and usable principles. Formal definitions by their nature are less friendly and accessible, so how might this one be made usable?...

Re: Devokan: story discussions (IC/OOC)
It's just struck me that it makes a lot of sense in story terms to start at Nalands for exploring, it being the place for the Guild of Cartographers (sorry if I am slow at times!).

Re: Devokan: story discussions (IC/OOC)
I'm in a similar situation re RL work -- it's good that it has re-started (and a relief). Whatever we do here, it needs to be enjoyable and not pressured. In a way, that is partly behind the spreading of the storylines, to reduce the pressure on all of us to maintain momentum. Thanks for the offer o...

Re: Devokan: story discussions (IC/OOC)
Quick update: When talking with Mat over the weekend, he asked if he could use the name 'Skysong' for the region currently named 'space'. This is for storyline purposes -- the floating islands breaking free from the blighted Devokans Touchstone and Skysong will end up here. D. Touchstone has already...

Re: Devokan: story discussions (IC/OOC)
Waysmeet and Deepwater are now safely installed in their new homes on Mat's home-hosted server connected to OSgrid. We've adjusted the arrangement so that Waysmeet is east of Curiosity (as before, so it links with Paislee's pod houses), and Deepwater is south of Waysmeet. The move went well, apart f...

Re: Devokan: story discussions (IC/OOC)
Bit more news re timing of the move of the islands. SimHost have been very helpful indeed, and have sent me 'oar' files for all four regions. These include information about both terrain AND builds on the region (including textures, models and positions). This means we should be able to transfer bot...

OpenSim tips
Here's a tip to stop being ejected 20ft in the air when you stand up after sitting on a chair in OpenSim:

Re: New MOUL Forum Rules 4-26-2010
Andy's post quotes RAWA's response to Tweek's request for clarification, in particular (emphasis added): The way the policies are currently written they could be pointed to the GoW forums generically, but not to specific posts that break our forum policies. It seems like a reasonable middle ground t...

Re: Where to Begin (The Game)
Thanks, Tailahr. In fact, renting a sim for personal use would be the best way of supporting the project. Several others have expressed interest in taking up a private region, so the project is probably viable from a cost point of view. An advantage of doing it this way is that individuals are able ...
