Re: [STICKY] The Team OSCAR General Discussion Thread

I'll be hanging out on #OpenUru from now on. You can find the link to join the IRC on the Community page. Also, I'll be setting up Skype pretty soon. Skype should, hopefully, make conversations a little less word based, and it's far easier to converse via tongue than keyboard!

Re: Project: D'ni Social Area

Wow! Lots of discussion. :) Natale's example is a good one, thanks for that. Two things about web access: 1) How much coding would need to be done to the engine to make it work with WebKit? I'm not a programmer - in fact, an adept programmer is 100% needed if this area is to be a success! 2) Having ...

Re: Project: D'ni Social Area

I agree with Stucuk. It has to exist in Uru, in my opinion. If we're looking at how to do a chess minigame, say, there are lots of ways you could do it. Here's two. 1) Have a GUI manage everything. You sit down at the chess table and a 2d representation of the board pops up. Basically you're sitting...

Re: Project: D'ni Social Area

Well, I have ideas which may or may not fit with the thin outline - does that count? Sure, all ideas welcome. :) Has anyone ever tried to spec up Gemedet? With a 3D interface, it might be relatively simple to mock up and would provide a new flair to things. Normal games like chess and checkers woul...

Re: PLASMA_EXTERNAL_RELEASE and BUILD_TYPE_LIVE in Visual St

I think Hoikas covered something similar inside his video on how to get things compiling in VS Express 2008.

If the GUI is similar between 2003 and 2008, check the menus at the top of the VS window. One of them allows you to select different build configurations, if I recall correctly.

Re: Team OSCAR: What You'll Want to Know First

I've just found some industrial-strength glue, so this topic is now a sticky.

Project: D'ni Social Area

Project Status: Stage 1 Project Introduction D'ni needs a social area. This much is pretty clear. Ae'gura is currently the hub - but it's content free beyond sightseeing and skydiving! Standing around chatting is one of the more common things to do in MMOs - but often this is wrapped in other activi...

Re: Team Creation Proposal: Team OSCAR

As this proposal has now become reality, I've renamed this thread. This is now the Team OSCAR general jibber-jabber thread. :P After I get the stickies sorted - either it's user error or I've not got the right privileges - this forum should hopefully be a little more content filled. I'll be opening ...
