Post by hhhenry »

I can bring up my existing explorer, no problem.

I wonder if this is related to another issue we have with creating new accounts, reported late last month and related to a server (i.e., OS stack) rebuild/upgrade. rarified has been looking into it.
Perfect speed is being there.

Ok, now the latest Ghen shard release Ghen26 has the same problem.....almost. So there, it gives me the network error, If I go Back, no new explorer. But, there, if I quit and return, new explorer. That does not happen on Minkata. Very strange

Also confirming inability to create new explorers on Minkata.
As hhhenry says, Gehn is showing the same symptoms;
the difference (for me at least) is that on Gehn I can quit out and restart after such attempts, but on re-entry, the explorers that seemed to have failed to be created are all present and ready to go.

Hoikas has identified and fixed the new-explorer-creation problem on the Gehn server.

It's entirely possible that Minkata's problem is completely unrelated, though coincidentally occurring at about the same point in time.
But, just in case: https://forum.guildofwriters.org/viewto ... 929#p72295

:mrgreen: Ok, I've reproduced the problem and it is an SQL error that resulted from my Postgres update on Minkata.

The MOSS group has provided some updates aimed at fixing issues with the latest and greatest Postgres versions, so I think I'm going to build a new version of MOSS and Postgres and debug from there. That way people trying to bring up MOSS on contemporary systems (Linux and otherwise) have a better chance of benefiting from debugging on Minkata.

It may take a couple of days to fix, so check back periodically.

It's certainly no hindrance to me, and probably not to any of the rest of us, really;
I think we're all just trying to be good beta-testin' error-reporters!
Good to know you're aware of it, over and out!

I believe I have killed this bug. :mrgreen:

Something changed during the database(vault) migration to a newer version of the database server, and some data types were modified to be incompatible with each other.

The problem occurred because existing Reltos were filled up with new users and the server needed to create a new Relto.

I've created three new avatars successfully, please try it yourself and see if you encounter any further problems.
