Bad video driver releases have given problems in the past, but I haven't heard of one affecting MOUL recently. Do you happen to know which version it was that gave you the problems, so others could avoid it?

Latest Radion 580 series drivers still fail but not on all shards. Ghen has always been an exception.
Current working driver: 25.20.15031.9002 04/15/2019
Latest tested driver: 26.20.13001.50005 09/03/2019
I'll wait for the 27 series.

This may also be a further sign of aging of the old generation of PhysX that current MOULa/Minkata still depend upon.

The H'uru version in Gehn may be updated to use newer versions of PhysX that have not suddenly become incompatible, due to "improvements" in the video driver side of things.

Are you suggesting that the physics engine is affecting the video rendering? Those are two completely different subsystems.

Assuming that "Ghen has always been an exception." means that the Gehn Shard is working (vague post), what I think is more likely is that hhhenry is seeing some benefits from our removal of cruft from the graphics code. I used to own an ATI Radeon HD. When we improved the dynamic camera maps to render at the full client size, I noticed that things were not working properly on my system. After investigation, I found Cyan's code was checking the device string for "Radeon" and applying a set of workarounds that dated from roughly the year 2000. These workarounds were, of course, no longer applicable. They have since been removed from the H-uru code because no one is using a Radeon 7000 to play Uru. Even if they did, it doesn't even support DX9, so it's a moot point. Further, the way the client inits itself has been changed significantly in H-uru such that the game always renders to a window, even when in "fullscreen."

It's too bad no one here appears is keeping abreast of client development. But, I understand that's usual modus operandi.

The problem also occurs on Deep Island but as a sound loop instead of a video loop

Uru online and Minkata fail right after accept at start uru with flashing screen
Deep Island freezes just after UBISoft starts
Exit using task manager to end task
Works Gehn
