Ae'gura book doesn't open

Post by Chiro »

Excuse me. I don't know where to consult, so I posted it here.
I have logged into Minkata Test Shard after a long time.
Then I couldn't open Ae'gura's book on the bookshelf in Relto's hut.
Can I go to Ae'gura from books on the bookshelf?
Any information is appreciated.

Absolutely you should, if you have a book on your bookshelf, you should be able to open it.

A couple of people have had something similar happen. It appears to be associated with a particular avatar. Could you make a new avatar and see if you have the same problem with it?

Thank you for your reply.
OK. I created and tried a new avatar.
Ae'gura books could be opened on the bookshelf.

However, existing avatars do not only open Ae'gura books.
Also, once they open Ae'gura books, they cannot return from the bookshelf.
In order for them to return from the bookshelf, they must link to Relto.
This phenomenon appears only in Ae'gura's book. All other books can be opened.

Same thing happens to my most experienced avatars. I have an avatar who has finished some, but hasn't finished the entire initial Yeesha's quest. I'm playing her as much as possible in hope of finding the exact point that this City book lock out occurs in hope it can help to squish this bug.
BTW it happens in both Prime and Alpha.

It does sound like there is some corruption in the Vault affecting older avatars.

I will put it on my list to examine the log files for hints as to what is wrong, but my plate at the moment is past overflowing
You will have to live with using a new avatar for now, I'm afraid.

I created and played a new avatar, but as the game progressed, I couldn't open the Ae'gura books on the bookshelf.
Unfortunately, creating a new avatar doesn't seem to improve this bug. :?

I have figured out the triggering event that causes this problem. All my oldest Avatars that have completed all Marker quests and my brand new ones that have only visited the Great Zero Anteroom and registered their Ki in the Red/Green Marker machine can no longer open the brown Private City book.
I created a brand new avatar. He could open the Brown city book on his Relto shelf. Then he did nothing except visit his game assigned Hood, received a Ki in the mini Gahreesen, returned to the Bevin and went directly to the GZ Anteroom, where he registed his Ki in the marker machine, clicked to register the marker in that chamber and returned to Relto, He could no longer open the brown Private City book.
I'll leave the hard part - figuring out what this means to the progammers.

Hi HHenry, sorry for the delay in getting back. I've been noze-to-the-stone busy on work for both the age pipeline and some changes in our source code management mandated by a hard time deadline by BitBucket. And been laid out sick for the last week. :(

Thanks for finding the correlation, that will make it easier to chase down when I can start looking at Minkata itself again. I'll look to you when it's time to try to confirm a fix or get more data.
