Minkata Shard Update October 26, 2012

This is a significant update to the game client, a second bug fix update to Minkata.65. The new client is marked Minkata.68.

Changes in this update:
  • From Skoader:
    1. Increase height correction to match graphical representation
      Provides more accurate interaction with detectors when the avatar is moving up or down.
      Also decreases the severity of the PhysX trigger hull bug in some detectors.
      This change doesn't affect world collisions.
    2. Clear linear velocity after each update.
    3. Disabled avatar updates
      Only update disabled avatars between steps if in a subworld and then don't interpolate their position.
    4. Fix controlled flight bug
      fControlledFlight state should be handled outside of the physics step.
    5. Vogondola changes for CWE avatar-physics update.
      Move the avatar to the subworld before warping.
      Don't attach the avatar to the VogDummy - Subworlds are now quite solid and doing so causes unnecessary instability in the simulation.
New or fixed features that need testing:
  • How to test:
    Continue the same testing you started for Minkata.65 and Minkata.66
    Go through the open bug list for Minkata.66 and confirm if the reported bugs are still present or are fixed.
    - Use your Avatar to interact physically with as much of the environment as possible, looking for new glitches, or fixed old glitches.

This is a significant update to the game client, a third bug fix update to Minkata.65. The new client is marked Minkata.71.

Changes in this update:
  • From Skoader:
    1. Rework PhysX collision flutter bug workaround
      To better handle erroneous trigger events under the new timing method, use the number of times the simulation has actually advanced instead of the number of evals received.
      Cleaned up a bit.
    2. Only apply height correction to human avatars.
    3. Clear achieved linear velocity on disabled avatars.
    4. Clear impact velocity on WalkingStrategy Reset.
      Fixes landing behaviours incorrectly firing after a brain transition.
  • From D'Lanor:
    1. Fix pellet points stealing (see https://foundry.openuru.org/jira/browse/MOULSCRIPT-6)
