New Year banner and fireworks - but why now?

Post by Treehugger »

I had a nice surprise today - four of my Avvies' neighbourhoods had the New Year banner and the fireworks; the fifth just had the banner. I took Ki pics and uploaded them to the neighbourhood viewers just to prove I wasn't hallucinating. I thought D'Ni New Year was in April? :?

The banner and fireworks are for any new year. In MOULa I believe they appear twice a year. In China... well, I don't know of any Chinese shards but I'm sure over there they would adjust the appearance to coincide with their festivities. ;)

Minkata just forgot to turn them off I guess.

oops  - yes, I hadn't realised that I'd not been in the Minkata 'hoods for quite a while; or that the fireworks were for 1 Jan as well as for D'Ni New Year. Thanks for putting me right, D'Lanor! :)

D'Lanor is right, the past week has been quite hectic for me and I forgot to shut them down. I haven't automated the schedule activated effects.

Think of it as if the D'ni had a really good time upon discovering our New Year on the calendar ;)

Errrr, um, I thought I broke up the party a while ago.

I'll have to look for stragglers continuing their merrymaking, and ask them to be more discrete.

I think Treehugger was hinting about having the banners back for the D'ni New Year which was yesterday, April 20th.

Thanks, Tai', you're right  - sorry if I was being too obscure, rarified  ! It was my attempt at a subtle hint that we needed the fireworks and banners back.
