Unsharding Virtual Worlds

I posted this topic on GoMa. I won't repeat here as it is long, just link to it. Discuss some of the ideas here or there, if at all, as you chose.

The ideas of Unsharding Story, Massive Choice Events and actually patching games to facilitate player choices are discussed in a session of the GDC. Several of these ideas are new to me. But, then advanced game theory is not my main focus.

Myst Online and Unsharded Story Line

While I think many of the ideas from GDC 2009 are new, I see shades of, if not actual, early implementation of them in Myst Online. The gaming world is moving in this direction. I am doubting MOOS can follow with the existing game engine.
