Tweek would like to see it flat; no emboss. I like some dimension to things, but I can see how overdoing it could become garish.

I don't mind spreading out words so much, as long as you can see it all in your field of vision. It has a style statement. Remember the "Alien" (movie) logo that spread five letters across the entire screen at the opening credits? It would probably be better if "wiki" had an extra letter as "wikki".

Well I'm just of the opinion that emboss should be used sparingly.

If you're wanting the logo to have more depth to it, I would suggest perhaps a flat one with a slight outer glow/shadow. faint enough to make it pop out but still not be too intrusive or something.

I also think the logo would look better without the emboss. Especially on the wiki.

I agree about doing away with the emboss. You could even keep it on the background, toned down a bit, instead of a shadow, but leave the text and logo flat.

Well, for me, the red in the current logo is too dark (maybe that's just my monitor settings though), so I preferred the blue variant from JWPlatt's post. On the other hand, I'm not sure how the blue will work on the forum masthead background. Maybe just a slightly lighter shade of red?

I agree that the slightly "flatter" version from Christian Walther probably works better (and will likely result in a smaller file size).

Yes. And I think I'd like to also reduce the size of the circle-key but keep OpenURU.org and the subtitle the same size so that the circle-key is not so disproportionate.

Above I see 6 colors... or 4 and a 1 white and 1 black gradient... The stroke around FORUMS is the 4th color.

I like shape and more of a 3D look to things...

What's that line around the circle-key in the right one?
