Thanks JWP... I was not searching well.

That gives me a good place to experiment from. In a worst case I could have a web page handle the rest of the process.

For those interested in where the virtual worlds are going... Check this story: A Question of Standards: The Epic Virtual World Interoperability Debate Summarized In 150 Words which is a sort of summary of the longer article: Politics and Interoperability Standards

EDIT: Fixed the Politics and Interoperability Standards link - sorry - Thx T S Kimball

Now the use of web pages for simple virtual worlds is growing in complexity and popularity.

If you have not heard of O3D check it out here: O3D

I'm seeing the wrong URL for Gwyn's original article. It should be this...

http://gwynethllewelyn.net/2009/03/02/p ... standards/

I've not read it directly, though I did read the NWN post.

[And I currently don't have an opinion on the matter - at least, not one I'm willing to discuss. Besides, I was outspoken enough in the past about their practical side, and they didn't listen.]

Come across articles about people using Myst games in education... that relates to this thread... at least in my mind.

Myst Exile in the Classroom

Second Life has added Media on a Prim (MOAP) to there new 2.0 viewer. I think I have underestimated how important the feature is to educators. The blogosphere is very excited by the news. In SL it is more than just showing a web page. One can actually use the web page. One can type in forms, log onto their Twitter account... Everyone in site of the prim can see what is going on...

I think all that is more than we can do in Open Uru without significant changes. But, it seems to be very popular with teachers.
