Mantis Activity
Greetings,
There are projects and users on Mantis, but it's getting virtually no use. So I figure it's one of these:
- Inactive development
- Mantis difficulties; usability
- Getting the word out
- Real life is a PITA
Please let me know how you are doing with Mantis and whether something needs to get done to do something better or encourage use.
Thanks.

RL can be a PITA and a timesink.
Havn't had time to work much on foundry integration so I'm idle right now...
Of course when the first source becomes available I suspect things will pick up.

Re: Mantis Activity
Mantis is useful -- it's just that I haven't focused on testing ages just recently. Sorry.

Everything's a bit quiet just now: wiki, forums too...JWPlatt wrote:There are projects and users on Mantis, but it's getting virtually no use.

Re: Mantis Activity
I'm thinking getting the word out is an issue. We have a lot of developers here, but not a lot of users.
Re: Mantis Activity
Yes, it seems like we're living in a 'limbo' these days, noone knows when and where, the activity is decreasing everywhere.
That said, i think Mantis will be more used when we get OSMO/MOOSE up and running. GoMa will sure be using it for reports on tested ages. But then again, it's really up to every age-creator to sign up, and for 'shard-runners' to use Mantis to look for tested ages.
Word would be spred

Re: Mantis Activity
I don't really need to use Mantis right now because:
1. Sources of the-game-with-many-names are not yet released.
2. I'm not yet in the full debugging process of the project I'm working on. (Which isn't related to Uru anyway...)

Re: Mantis Activity
With the increased emphasis on JIRA, and the lack of activity on Mantis, is there much point in keeping Mantis going?
Is it worth keeping this as a "simpler" tool for smaller projects or where folks are just more comfortable with it, or would it be better to say "No, we have one tool for issue tracking"?
I also noted that all the timestamps, with the exception of JW's fairly recent "date test" were showing 17:00, Dec 31, 1969 (I'm guessing that's MST-speak for 00:00, Jan 1, 1970 UTC), possibly the result of a database reload?

Re: Mantis Activity
Keep in mind there is a (untried as of yet) mechanism for transferring Mantis data to JIRA if we choose to consolidate.
