Whither Groupware Evaluation

Post by JWPlatt »

With our acquisition of licenses and a commitment to the Atlassian tools, I do not see much need to retain all these evaluation test instances. So if that's generally agreed, and no one is using them, they could be cleared off and these evaluation forums would be archived.

Agreed. I'll do a quick scan on the tools I've set up one at a time, see if anyone created their own identity and/or content, and post the results on this thread (along with access stats). We then can identify when it will go away if not immediately.

First on the list: OpenProject.

Total unique visitors (excluding JW and rarified): 67
Last visitor: 6-Nov-2010

No content added to PO.

I think this one's ready to retire 8-)

Both are on the list to shut down, but below the available time threshold right now. I wanted to make sure to have some form of archive of the config before just nuking them. I was able to just shut down the projectopen VM and tuck it's disks onto a DVD -- very easy.

[Both eGw and dP have been constant targets of malware probing for PHP weaknesses, I'll be happy when they're gone ;) ]

Gone! Had some trouble getting PHP rebuilt and only needed it (currently) for dotProject.

Thanks for the reminder.

Linking to the old dotProject URL, the server actually delivers the dotProject PHP code itself as the page. Very exciting. Wouldn't want to have <root_settings>.php doing that. ;)

No longer. Mind starting to get cluttered up with flying objects. Choose your object, preferably heavy and sharp.

Ok, it's been a long time coming, but we're all done here.

Goodnight evaluation. Good morning Atlassian.
