Backend shutting down

Heya,
is there a reason why the backend server is shutting down or restarting sometimes without the main server noticing it? In this case the moss process runs without a backend and you cannot connect anymore. Unfortunately, there is nothing interesting in the log files.

If the backend process is gone with nothing in the log files, I would suspect it dumped core. Please look for a file named 'core' in the MOSS directory. If there is no file there, it is likely your system is not set to allow those to be created. I would need to know your distro, so we can turn that on and get that file. I know that Debian, by default, is not set to allow core dump files to be created, so I would not be surprised to find out other distros are the same.

Thank you.
