Stops before it starts at initialize patcher, Been trying all late morning. Was fine earlier.

These last reports probably happened during an update, where the manifests for a brief time don't match the downloaded files, so your client either retries (infinitely) or hangs.
Since the issues are resolved, I'll move on to the next fire

Not quite. My test avatar was deleted.
And I was in just minutes ago and now the same problem
I now can't login again
I did notice a 300MB down load when I could get in earlier.
I notice that when cancel soon, after a pause, it shuts down. If I let it sit there for a while before I cancel, it hangs and must be shut down with Task Manager

OK it's back up again and downloading 450MB of URU.
