FYI.

We expect our hosting service to update MySQL to version 5.5 soon. I'll post another note when the date is known. This affects the forums, wiki, blogs, and Mantis. Foundry is unaffected.

Here's a genericized version of a notice received on another account:
The server hosting <your domain> will have MySQL upgraded to version 5.5 on <date> between the hours of 10 PM to 5 AM MDT. We estimate that MySQL will be offline for a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour. This updated version of MySQL will provide you with new and enhanced features, including:
  • Significantly Improved Performance and Stability
  • Improved Scalability
  • Improved Diagnostic Information
After the upgrade, you will experience availability, performance and reliability improvements in MySQL and other services. If interested, you can find more details about MySQL 5.5 at http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/art ... ql-55.html

Although we don't anticipate the upgrade to cause any issues, please contact us if you have any problems, concerns or questions.
Cool, huh? Performance has been shaky over the past year or so, if anyone has noticed. Let's hope it's as wonderful as they promise.
