I guess there is some kind of error in the prp file which causes that (and which cannot be fixed under the current open source license). This is why I made a fix which re-enables the elevator after a crash. Formerly it would have remained stuck forever.

Today I've created my first second avatar in my whole Uru life lol ... /cheer ... :D

While roaming the cavern I suddenly found it absolutely pointless and thus somehow
tedious to 'explore' or wander about with a fully fledged and equipped avatar trodden
paths again and again, clicking here, pushing there, jumping up and down etc. etc. lol
while not really knowing what I'm supposed to test, to challenge and go about in a way
that'd make sense and be useful in any way ... Everything you could do alone is working
fluently so far ... :P

Yeah, that's why I've decided to start anew so that it'd be fun again to click, to push,
to move and attentively and relaxed go about whatever and wherever ...
My 'new' name and KI# are in my signature ...

Everything worked well by now as always lol, there was though one Net6 Error I've been
experiencing when I clicked the Relto page in the tree in the cleft ... I clicked it several
times without the expected 'response/animations' and then I've got that Net6 Error and
was out ... Is this a known issue or should I submit a ticket with my log? ...

So, in case there'd be something special to be tested for the May 21st deadline for Cyan,
please let me and all of us know what specifically and in concert with others as the multiplayer
functionality seems to be of more need to be challenged and stress tested ...

At the weekend all will be excitedly looking forward to Rand and the Starry Expanse for the ADBMM
week ... Maybe we/some could meet on the shard on the upcoming Father's Day or maybe even before ...
See you all anytime soon ... :D

The guideline is that if it's not what you'd expect to happen and you can't easily find evidence that it's a known problem then you should raise a ticket, especially if it's something that you find happens more than once.

I've looked in the log files around the times of the Ercana Net 6 errors, and the disconnects were caused by oversized update messages from the client to the server being rejected by MOSS.

It is a known weakness of MOSS (JIRA bug MOSS-20) but the real fix needs to be found for the client.

There is a patch in the works to improve the robustness of MOSS so it doesn't disconnect the client, but would merely discard the oversize message and pick up on the next message but I havn't had time to apply/test it.

Just to elaborate on what I understand of this issue and MOSS: It's not actually a weakness, but a design demand that MOSS should not have to kludge itself to work around client flaws. The client should be fixed instead. In other words, the message size limit in MOSS could be increased to ridiculous proportions, or the client could be fixed to not generate oversized messages. Making MOSS tolerant of this condition enough to at least throw out the messages and not drop the connection is a suitable compromise until the client is fixed.
Perfect speed is being there.

Created a new avatar, completed the prime ages, collected the pod books, completed Er'cana and started on Ahnonay (collecting all the links & rewards, etc. along the way). Took over 100 KI shots and uploaded some to imagers in the hood, a guild pub, and Relto. Also uploaded pellet points. Everything seemed to work fine, including uploading images while someone else was present.

However... I copied & pasted a large amount of text into a KI message (probably well over the limit of characters) and then couldn't get it to upload to the imager; I presume that has something to do with the character limits? Not a bug, though, right?

And, I had a bit of weirdness with the quabs in Ahnonay; wondering if it's ticket-worthy or not. When I got to the tower island, the quab wasn't there. I thought perhaps I just didn't notice it leaving as I arrived, but all my past experiences here were that the quab waited until I walked up the steps. So, I deleted the book and tried again. I checked to make sure it was there before swimming out, but when I got there, it was gone. Deleted the book and did it again; this time, the quab was there, but when I chased it off, it stayed just under the water where it was still being read by the meter. There was another one near the falls doing the same thing. I remember this happening occasionally in the past, but not like this. Ticket-worthy or not?

That's expected behavior. The quabs' spawn points are randomly chosen each time you link in. Futhermore, they are not removed from the age when you chase them into the water, they just stay there until you link out ('killed' quabs won't respawn in the water on link in)--the point is that there is nothing on the pressure plate. ;).

Thank you for the rigorous testing, Tai'lahr, janaba and others! Much appreciated by us developer types who sometimes no longer see the forest for the trees. :geek:

It probably has nothing to do with the changes we’re testing right now, but it could be worth having a look at some time. It seems odd to me at least. I don’t know what the character limit for KI messages is, but it shouldn’t be different when the message is in your KI than when it is on an imager – the contents of the message should have no effect at all on the act of posting it to an imager.

I’d be game for repeating Sunday’s thwarted attempt at a TMP field trip on Thursday – more for fun than for serious testing, I was thinking of doing Kadish to give the elevator a beating, checking the Relto bookshelf on the way there, or whatever else we think of.

I should be here on this Thursday to make sure the server is up this time  After Friday, however, I'm going to be away and only checking things occasionally for two weeks.
